Hope Across the Border: Serving Families in Juárez

There are some trips that stay with you long after you return home. Our recent journey to Juárez with our dear friends at Alvarado Ministries was one of those moments.

From the time we crossed into the city, the need was impossible to ignore. Families are facing daily hardship, children are growing up in broken environments, and many homes are still struggling to secure the most basic necessities. Yet in the middle of all of that, we saw something even stronger than the need—we saw hunger for hope.

Together with Alvarado Ministries, our team had the privilege of delivering food, clothing, and essential supplies directly into the hands of children and families who needed them most.

But what moved us most was not simply the distribution itself. It was the smiles. It was the way a child’s face lit up when they received something as simple as a fresh set of clothes. It was the gratitude in the eyes of parents who were doing everything they could to provide for their families. It was the opportunity to pray with people, encourage them, and remind them that God sees them right where they are.

This is what partnership ministry looks like.

Alvarado Ministries continues to do incredible boots-on-the-ground outreach in Juárez, reaching children from broken homes and bringing both practical support and the Gospel into difficult places. It is an honor for Judah 1 to come alongside that work and help extend its reach.

What impacted us deeply on this trip was seeing how every single act of kindness mattered. A meal, a coat, a prayer, a moment of conversation—none of it was small. Every act became a reminder that hope is tangible.

One of the beautiful things about mission work is that while you go to serve others, God often changes your own heart in the process. This trip reminded all of us that the mission is never just about supplies. It is about people. It is about dignity. It is about showing the love of Christ in ways that can be felt immediately.

Juárez is close in miles, but for many families there, the distance to hope can still feel enormous. That is why these trips matter. And this is why we will continue to go where the need is greatest.

Thank you to everyone who prayed, gave, and made this outreach possible. Because of your partnership, families in Juárez were reminded that they are not forgotten.
